ADT Security System is not a bad system, just keep up with the problems, always keep track of any system troubles and zones that cause false alarms so that when you call the company to fix it you can tell them exactly what?s going on. more

they have taken payments twice 11/8/2010

I have had a monitored alarm for 10 yrs. Since ADT took over the contract they have taken payments twice - not refunded until they have been asked several times. They have made this particular error twice. They then cancelled my contract when I did not ask them to and despite at least 5 letters and 3 phone calls still have not reinstated it. Then asked me to pay ?45 for the privilege when it was their error! more

My parents needed a security system for their house so I decided to go with ADT. I heard some good things about Alarm Force but the bottom line was that they didn't send police during an alarm. MHB Security, an ADT dealer, offered the most equipment compared to other dealers and they didn't try to sell me a system over the phone like some other dealers. more

Their attitude is extraordinarily apathetic 11/1/2010

ADT does not care if they loose customers. They would rather enforce contracts, even when a company goes out of business and has to cancel service, they will not transfer the service, they will insist on collecting the balance on the contract. It is difficult to contact the appropriate customer service agent and difficult to work with in general. Their attitude is extraordinarily apathetic with their clients and I am glad to have severed their service. Their level of integrity is extremely low and undesirable to do business with. I am amazed they have managed to stay in business as long as they have more

ADT has always been a very professional company that has given me exactly what I contract for. It isn't always the cheapest, but they have never tried to 'scam' me either. They may offer additional capabilities (extra control panels, etc.) at normal costs, but everything has always been at face value. I consider ADT to be the consummate alarm company, but like all others will have customers that aren't happy (due to a fault of ADT, their sales force, installer, or the fault of the customer). more
