After watching the news about all the different mom and pop alarm company's in town here the obvious choice for me was ADT. Alot of these alarm company's didn't even have a license to sell alarms. That was disturbing. Also alot of them are using out dated equipment. ADT has been doing this for over 130 years so I think they know what they are doing by now. If you look at the type of equipment compared to all the other alarm companys it's apple and oranges. ADT's service techs are 24hrs which really helps when I need someone on a Sunday, I would never get that from another alarm company. They also monitor over 200 airports, many goverment institutes including the Federal Marshals and has recently made a deal with ALL federal judges (most judges make good decisions that's what they get paid for). I don't work for ADT, I just do alot of research and not look at a few bad instances in which some are waaaay out there. I have been a customer for over 10 years and when it comes to protecting my family I only want the best and nothing more, they are #1 for a reason. more

Where do i start with ADT? I have been paying monthly direct debits for full monitoring and maintainence cover of £21.95 for the last year and a half and i have still not had the system connected to the phone line yet. I have also given up trying to get my money back from them as i've been paying for a service that i'm not recieving because, well they just ignored me. But the final straw was this morning when i called about having the batteries changed on my alarm key pad. more

I decided to switch to ADT alarms because my previous alarm system kept on acting up. I'm with this system for 5 months and no problems encountered yet. Good job! more

Having a home security system is a must when it comes to owning a house. I am living alone, no kids, no husband, nothing. The reason why I called up ADT Security was because my friend told me that this company is good. So, I called them up. Yesterday, my system was installed successfully and no problems so far. I like the remote keychain. I hope it doesn't get lost. :) more

Had to replace my door. Needed ADT to send a technician to reinstall front door detector. Besides the rediculous price to do so they want you to work around their schedule and not the customer. This is not customer service. They need to start getting into the needs of their customer. I've never had an incident / breakin. If I do I now wonder how they will respond. more

Apart from stating the obvious - it does what it should etc, I thought I'd write and tell you all about my experience of ADT. Living in London, I thought I'd have an alarm installed as as such contacted about 6 different companies to get quotes. I was really surprised to discover that ADT was the most cost effective out of them all. The reason for this is that my installation only cost £299 which includes the Metropolitan Police Registration fee. The system was installed in about 5 hours with the minimum mess. I opted also for a combined smoke/C02 detector that alerts the alarm receiving centre if I have a fire/gas leak. Most quotes I got were around the £900 mark plus the £300 or so a year for maintenance and monitoring costs. The ADT package I got was around £25/month which includes 2 service visits and full monitoring. more
