AAMCO of Lake Forest definitely gets a five for service. I had to go back a couple times, but they were excellent in getting things done, so I can't complain! Car guys are difficult, but these guys were great. They were reviewing my transmission because I had some slippage. They did the transmission work for 15% to 20% of the cost that the dealership quoted. I also had some problems with a differential because it was making a strange sound like it was about to break. They fixed that for a tenth of the other quoted cost. more

Very good job 1/13/2014

AAMCO of Lake Forest had to rebuild my transmission but the oil gear they put in it failed. I was a couple of days out of warranty but they replaced it free of charge. They were very thorough but fast and kept me apprised of whatever they were doing. more

Great communication in-shop. Took longer than I anticipated. 12/20/2013

I had a leak in my transmission. It's an old car, so AAMCO of Lake Forest had to drop the pan and replace an o-ring for the shaft. What I thought was going to take 24 hours ended up taking 3 days. I had to call and follow up, instead of the shop supervisor telling me what was happening. I would still recommend them, though, because the service was very friendly. The service manager was really accommodating. When I was there and actually talking to him, he was thorough and easy to talk to. more

Pretty good. 12/19/2013

There was a leak in my transmission. I went to AAMCO of Lake Forest, and they sealed it all up. There is always room for improvement, but it was a pretty good experience overall. more

Overall good experience 11/18/2013

Mike at AAMCO went over and beyond for me in every way. There were a couple of other guys that were not so customer service-oriented but Mike was top-notch. It was all great although I had to take my truck back in to fix for a second time but other than that, it was an overall good experience. Tim Boyd more

Professional staff, good consistent experience 9/11/2013

I have had good experience with AAMCO Lake Forest. The guy at the front desk is always helpful. The staff is professional, and I have no complaints with their service. The only thing I would say is that the warranty should be longer than 12,000 miles. more

My car was very well serviced at AAMCO Lake Forest. The customer service was very well done. They were very patient and they really did a very good job. It was a transmission repair and we weren't exactly sure what was going on. They diagnosed the problem and were very patient while we discussed the cost and everything. It was a very competitive price--they priced it well--but nonetheless, it was expensive due to the nature of the work being done. They provided great service; they really did. I didn't feel like they took any shortcuts or anything and they were very understanding of how the nature of the repairs can affect the customer. They gave us time to discuss it and were very, very understanding. more

GREAT PRICE and Mike the owner is Awesome!! 8/13/2013

My car would not move so I took it to AAMCO to get the free check out as my dealer wanted $120.00 just to look at it. They diagnosed it and found it needed a rebuilt transmission as opposed to a new one that cost so mush more. They gave me a worst cast on the price and once it was apart they called with the final price. It only needed a few hard parts so the price was at the low end of their estimate. I still called around and found that they were giving me a very good price. When I picked up the car I met Mike the owner and he took the time to explain that by rebuilding the transmission they can save people so much money. He was a really good guy and gave me his cel number if I ever needed anything. WOW! That's service! more

I called AAMCO when my car stopped running and they towed it in and checked it for FREE!!! The dealership wanted $120.00 just to check it. When Ken called me with the cost of the repair I called other shops to compare the price and AAMCO was the best. Thanks Ken for the great service and price!!! more

Very happy to find an honest shop 6/28/2013

I was thinking the worse when my car quit moving but Aamco diagnosed it as being only a bad axle. IM still going on my vacation. Thanks guys in Lake Forest more

transmission rebuild 6/25/2013

I took my car to AAMCO for the free check and they told me I had two problems. They recommended I fix the small one first to see it if fixes the other. It did and instead of a complete transmission rebuild as another shop said I needed, I paid less then $200.00 Thanks AAMCO!!!! more

I brought my Mercedes to them for some transmission work. I had shopped around and they had the best prices I found. They were pretty straightforward for making it worth my while to do it there. The work done was all fine. more

I have a 2003 Ford Ranger truck, I took it to several people trying to figure out the best price and I ended up going with AAMCO. Ken helped me with getting my car taken care of while I waited for my pay check. The final price ended up being under the price quoted from other places, which was good. more
