A Merry Minstrel Singing

I wanted to thank Merry Minstrel for making my party extra special! We had a huge problem- another entertainment company double booked our party time and left us STRANDED with no entertainment at all. We previously hired a magician, a bounce house, and balloon artist.. We were desperate and called Merry Minstrel who make on the spot arrangements for a fun party clown who did an awesome magic show, balloons for all the kids and to top it off, she sent out a huge bounce house at no charge!! My twin 6 years old boys were SO EXCITED!! We had over 60 guest and said it was the BEST PARTY and wanted to know where the entertainment came from!! It means so much to have a business go out of their way to make your day a success! We can't wait until next year! The boys saw your train on your website!! My name is Michele and I have been the owner/manager of Merry Minstrel for many years. I would love to say that every single party we have ever booked was perfect. I would LOVE that. However, having been in business for over 20 years there have been times when situations arise that are beyond my control. I have had entertainers quit. I have had entertainers that needed to be replaced. The same applies to our bounce house delivery men/women. I have had to terminate people. However, although there are a few glitches that have occurred, I am very happy to say we have done thousands of birthday parties, singing telegrams and bounce house rentals over the past 20 years that I have been involved with Merry Minstrel. I always do my best to deliver a quality product, quality entertainment and give my customers a good value for their money. We have some fantastic princess parties. I want to address this since I was given to poor reviews in this listing. My daughter and I do all of the princess parties. We offer complete tea party and princess dress up parties with two princesses or a princess and a fairy Godmother. We also offer our single princess party which is face painting, balloon twisting, nail painting , story and a craft. I hired Merry Minstrel months before my daughters 3rd birthday and paid the deposit and all for the princess package. I called numerous times before the party to confirm and they were never in the office...always some kind of family emergency. She assured me they had everything and all would be taken care of. The day of the party, 1 hour before designated time of arrival, I get a phone call informing me that the princess quit. (which ironically she is still being advertised on their website). Here I was with 10 3- year olds dressed in their princess costumes with no princess. I was absolutley devistated. I asked about back up plans or what they could do and all she could tell me is they didn't have anything and she was sorry but there was nothing they could do. After much arguing and stress..we ended up with a clown that came and did a great show and she was sweet as she could be, but as for the company...FORGET IT. Who operates a party business with no back up plans. What if the princess was sick or something else came up..what the party just gets ruined. Makes no sense to me. Then, the real kicker...she still charged me full prices for the clown. They didn't even eat the cost of that. I had 70 guests at the party, some of which used this company previously and others that were planning to use them in the future and all have agreed we would NEVER use or recommend this company to ANYONE...well, maybe to my ex husband. We used them for my son's fourth birthday party on February 10, 2008. We rented the "Cars" bouncy castle. Can't recommend them enough for inflatable rentals. They were here to the dot when they said they would arrive, and showed up to disassemble exactly when quoted as well. The children at the party had a blast and my son is still walking on air, even though the bouncy castle is long gone. Definitely worth the price we paid! Thanks! more

I hired them to do my little girl's princess party. They arrived later then the time promised at the party. I got the basic princess package that included a princess fashion show, glitter on their hair, dress up for the show, face painting, baloons, crafts, nail polish and princess music. The day of the party the girls were extremely bored. face painting of 9 girls took most of hte party, the craft was done by the girls and their moms, the princess did some balloons and spent most of 2 hours sitting down doing face painting or balloons. Princess music was not played, she forgot the CD and no princess fashion show, no emphasis on the dress up either and no glitter in the hair. Basically this was a regular party with face painting, craft and balloons with princess dresses included. There was nothing princess about the party. If you want a real princess party do not hire them to do your theme party. We were extremely dissapointed. I complained to her but she did not care and charged me for the whole thing as if she had done everything. Avoid them if you don't want to have a horrible time and a horrible party. Pros: nice face painting if that is the main thing you want in your party Cons: they did not do as promised. They delivered an inferior product than advertised. more
