I have been taking my dog to “A Grateful Dog” for about 6 months now. As far as the grooming goes there, they do a good job for a reasonable price. My wife liked this place because they would only take one dog at a time and so your dog isn't nervously sitting in a cage waiting to be taken care of. After our last visit, I will never take my dog there again. So the story goes like this:\r
\r
First, let's go back to the first time we took our dog to this “A Grateful Dog” groomer. Once we got home, I noticed a strange looking cut on my dogs left arm. At first I thought something else might be stuck inside the wound. So I took her to the vet for them to take a look at it. The vet told me they couldn't be positive but it looked like she had been cut and someone\r
had tried to glue her skin together. Since the vet couldn't prove anything I didn't want to wrongfully accuse someone so I left it alone. I should have found a new groomer right then but it's close to home and my wife liked the fact that our dog was the only one there while being groomed.\r

So now we move ahead to 1/16/2014. Once my wife got our dog home from her appointment I noticed my dog was acting funny. She wouldn't play with her rope (which is her favorite toy) and all she wanted to do was lay in my lap. Multiple times that evening I told my wife something was wrong with our dog. It wasn't until just before bedtime I found out what it was. I found a rather large gash in her front right armpit where the skin was completely ripped away. As soon as I tried to get a better look at it my dog began to cry. I couldn't believe it. Not only did she have another cut on her but the groomer chose not to tell us about it.\r

So the next morning I called the groomer to ask her what happened to my dog. She was very defensive right from the start telling me that it was possible that she cut my dog with the clippers but she never heard a scream from my dog. Although I find it hard to believe my dog didn't make a sound due to the size of the gash (I know I would've). I then asked her if she would cover the cost of a vet visit which she replied PROVE THAT I DID IT. After I asked about the vet she became very unpleasant saying she always had trouble with my dog moving around while grooming her. So I asked her if she was now blaming my dog for her mistake. At that point she screamed at me to never come back here again and then hung up the phone on me.\r

I decided to write this review to let all the dog lovers in the area looking for a groomer to look elsewhere. If however you do bring your dog to “A Grateful Dog” make sure to check your pet head to toe for cuts. I can assure you they won't tell you about it if it happens. When it does happen you will be very rudely told it's your pets fault and not theirs.
