My Reaction is: We had FANTASTIC Birthday Party Experiences 6/1/2010

I do not normally take time to review businesses but when I read a negative review on Panache, I decided to sign up and share my experience because I didn't appreciate the approach another reviewer had and I have to disagree with her publically (I'd do it in person, like she should have, but I don't know how to reach her). The negative comments that really bothered me had to do with the price, entertainment, and service. I'd like to share my experiences in relation to Panache: \r My daughter has attended 2 parties for her friends and we had one of our own there for her earlier this year. The price was extremely reasonable and there were no surprise costs, they even informed me when I booked our party that the gratuity was not included in case I chose to give one, which I happily did (I’ve been to places that forced you to pay a gratuity). \r Prior to my Panache experience, I threw two big parties in my home. My home parties easily cost ME MUCH more than we paid at Panache. When I had the parties at home, they were very expensive when I added up the invitations (and the time filling them out, etc.), the decorations (what a rip off from the party supply stores), the plates, napkins, cups, wares, the food costs (not to mention my valuable time and headaches trying to get everything cooked and finished on time), getting a NICE decorated cake, buying ice cream, making favor bags (and the cheapie items I put in my bags were not nearly as nice as we got at Panache), preparing and hosting games, buying themed music, taking pictures, buying and filling out thank you cards, and probably a bunch of things I forget at the moment...it nearly drove me nuts! Plus I had to entertain the parents of the guests while trying to host the party and keep things moving, cleaning the spills during the party (especially the first one I had), and then I had to clean up my messy house after (not to mention clean it before…don’t tell my guests)! At the three parties at Panache, I think they handled ALL of the above tasks for me and probably several I didn’t mention! Plus they did face painting at our princess party and when she attended a glamour party there they did the girls’ nails, hair, and makeup! We had two hostesses at the princess party and there were three during part of the glamour party. When OUR party was over, they gave us the extra cake all packaged up nice as well as the nice sign they had on the door with my daughter's name...and they gave me a set of thank you cards to mail out to my guests along with a gift list I didn't even know they were making for me! They also did this really cool princess presentation during the party. The hostesses interacted with our girls throughout the whole party. \r WOW, did I really write all of this? I have writers cramp now! I’m sorry I wrote so much but I felt upset at the public Panache basher and I didn’t want to let their comments go unchallenged. I need to go calm down and get back to Twittering where I can only write a few sentences. Pros: They thought of everything! Cons: Parties appear limited to less than 20 children more

terrible for little girls birthday party!!! 5/2/2010

Kids were asking for when it would be over. They were bored! A lot of money then they charged $20 extra for each kid over 8. They never provided entertainment, service was terrible, they never informed me, or the kids, what was happening next. Just get you in then out.\r It would have been cheaper to buy the tea sets, buy the cake, buy tables, rent a hostess, and buy dress up clothes for my own home and still saved money AND had a better time. Nothing extra for the money.\r I would NOT recommend this for a Birthday party. Pros: none. Cons: way overpriced for a birthday party without anything fancy more

Amazing French Tea Parlor, Cafe and Party Room 12/16/2009

Every time I go there I receive excellent service, the food is delicious, and they have an amazing selection of teas. There is a cafe in the front, a French Tea Parlor in the middle, and in the back is the party room. They even have a vanity closet if you want to dress up in hats, boas, and little bling! The prices are very reasonable and you get plenty of food. Twice I have held workshops there and highly recommend this spot for events. They have a separate room for kids parties, showers, or group meetings. The owner Scott Alvord pays attention to the details. There is plenty of parking in the back of the shop. Pros: Delicious fresh food, excellent service, great ambiance more

Wonderful Tea Parlor (plus more) 2/27/2008

We attended a baby shower at panache last fall and didn't realize until then that they were right around the corner from us! Since then I've taken family and friends to their cute French Deco Tea Parlor for various tea sittings (wonderful quiche, tasty chicken salad sands, huge selection of loose leaf tea). They charge less than all other regional tea parlors and they seem to serve a lot more food...and very good food.\r They also host girls birthday parties in a back room that is decorated very cute. The front area of their building is a separate cafe and a really nice ice cream parlor. The staff are very pleasant and we've met the owners a few times and I really enjoy their friendliness. I'd highly recommend. more
