I received a gift with a gift receipt attached. I already had the exact same thing and didn't wish to exchange it for anything in the store. I just wanted the amount of cash the gift cost. I was told that I had to get something in the store because it was a gift receipt not the ""original"" receipt. Isn't that the purpose of gift receipt-- to use in place of the regular receipt? I asked why that would make a difference, the gift was purchased from their inventory. She said ""Well, we wouldn't know if the person paid cash for it or used a credit card"". I said ""Can't you tell that by the number on the gift receipt"". Then her answer changed to ""Well that's our store policy"".\r
I have never heard of such a thing. I could understand if there was no gift receipt , you would have to exchange it for something in their store!! I will NEVER return to that store and will tell everyone I know NOT to go there.
Cons: rudeness, bad attitude, unrealistic store policy
