A child's place 8/17/2011

This school gave me so much, I dont know where to begin. But some of the core things would be a fantastic education, a place that nutured my young and steadily growing mind ,always encouraging me to take the next step,Self confidence in who I was and what I have to offer the world, and last but not least a place where I felt I belonged . Thank you A child's place:) more

Partner with Families to Provide A Healthy Upbringing

Owner Message
  • A Child's Place was founded by Linda & Gregory Coles in 1983 after being inspired by their 4 year old daughter Denice Coles. Ms. Linda Coles was determined to have her daughter in a loving and nurturing environment where she would also learn. Due to the fact that Ms. Coles was unable to find a suitable program, she began her own. Years later The Coles have continued to build their dreams while staying focused on providing a loving and nurturing educational program. After graduating from St. John's University, Ms. Denice Coles joined her parents in building and continuing to develop the school and services of A Child's Place Day School.

Denice Coles is now the Educational director of the nursery, pre-school and day school. She continues to further her education by obtaining her master's degree. She carries on the family tradition by utilizing A Child's Place to educate her first born son, who has attended the program since he was 3 months old.

Located in the heart of the community where the Coles were born and raised, A Child's Place is closely linked to the East Elmhurst - Corona community. A Child's Place was the site of a press conference with Senator Hilary Clinton, advocating for stronger day care funding and representation. The Coles have received many awards from community programs, such as the one given by Assemblyman Jeffrion Aubry at an economic development conference in Albany.. Infant Center:

The most important service one can give to a new parent/guardian is the assurance that they are leaving their baby in the safest most loving environment possible. We are the only center in New York that offers our families Peace of Mind. Be in two places at one time (watch your child and work too).

    Pre-School Program:

The most important service you can give a new parent/guardian is to assure that they are comfortable leaving their children each day.

    School Age Program:

Our School age program is located at 107-17 Northern Blvd. This location is located on the same block as our main building, with the entrance located on 108th Street.
