Best

Beautiful apartment building. Really nice staff. Close quarters to retail. My top selection for a place to live near five points.

Worst

The place would be great but they have some prima donna from Louisiana working there who thinks she owns the place! She is so rude and nasty to patrons. If they could only send he...

If you and your friends are planning to go to some place and have fun might as well go here and have fun and get great deals with your bills. more

Great Hotel BUT..... 2/16/2011

It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at referer.us/8/GoodHotelDeals They usually have some pretty good deals on there! more

Basement Ballin' 6/30/2010

This basement of the The Highland Inn is a catch-all of the Poncey, eclectic crowd. Random nights of rodeo thems, tiki hula hoop competitions, to indie band, or electric cello players. Either way, it's always a different night from whatever your routine has been stuck in. Hop down the stairs and say hello to your new favorite heavy handed bar keepers. Pros: Eclectic, Heavy handed bartenders Cons: Can be hit or miss more

If it weren't for certain staff members... 4/11/2010

The place would be great but they have some prima donna from Louisiana working there who thinks she owns the place! She is so rude and nasty to patrons. If they could only send her to anger management it would be awesome. And someone should let her know that she is NOT God's gift to the universe! There are much better looking young ladies out there! Pros: location Cons: the prima donna more

Great Semi-Secret Spot in Poncey-Highland 1/28/2010

While the Ballroom Lounge of the Highland Inn is not quite a secret, its dingy-chic meets vintage style (i.e. black and white tile, old furniture, and decayed grandeur vibe) offers libations and badass music events for a fraction of the price bars that try to re-create the same ""effortless"" vibe charge. Mega cheap High Life, generous pours of Jack 'n' ginger, loosen up an excellent mix of folks including ex-fratboys, hipsters and that cute tatted up girl you saw at the Majestic the weekend before. Make sure to attend a late night 60's dance party complete with wall projections of weirdo films, or for a low key jazz night during the week. Pros: Great mix of people, awesome dance party potential Cons: Better to finish the evening here, rather than start it more

Rude and not so pleasant 7/21/2009

You can get a room at say....The Georgian Terrace Hotel at the same or better price! And the rooms there are MUCH better and BIGGER and CLEANER! Pros: location maybe, only if you want to stay on that side-O-town Cons: Not cheap anymore @ a hundred a night w/tax! more

fun times! 5/17/2009

I held my wedding reception here and we all had a blast. The astmosphere is really unique. Don't come here expecting that modern industrial vibe; it's a throwback to the jazz age with tiled floors and ceilings and mismatched couches. You almost feel like you need a cloche hat and a secret password to come in. I still get compliments on how neat the space was. The bartenders (hired by the Highland Inn staff so I assume they work there regular nights as well) made us anything we asked for and didn't skimp. Pros: great atmosphere, good drinks more

It is not free cover but not much 8/11/2008

Cover was five bucks. For live bands and cheap drinks you can not beat it. Schlitz, PBR, and Highlife....nuff said. more

Rude front desk service 4/12/2008

The front desk clerk was very rude to me when I told him I think I left my glasses at the lounge located on the basement floor of the Highland Inn. more

Great if you like unique places 8/15/2006

My husband and I have decided that we like chain hotels, so read this review with that in mind. The Highland Inn was quaint and very clean. It has small rooms that are very old but if you are looking for unique, you will love it. The lobby is small and VERY hot. They have wireless internet but you have to sit in the hot lobby to use it. We probably wouldn't stay there again, but I know there are a lot of people out there who would love it. Pros: price, location Cons: small room, no air in lobby more

What A Difference 2 Years Must Make! 4/11/2006

I read the old reviews but they were 2 years old and not kind. A friend of mine suggested that I stayed there b/c its in a good spot. They assured me that it is completely different now and they are new people over that are fixing the place up. We had a blast! What a fantastic neighborhood. We walked to a truckload of shops and bar hopped all weekend long. As a budget Inn, this is the best one I have ever been at. The Inn is crawling with charm and personality. Our room was small but we expected that because we noticed the pictures on their website. The best part was this cool picture in the room with an advertisement of a Bettie Davis movie but it was all in French-how hot is that? I love this place! The staff was friendly and the area rocked! Pros: art work, cool house cat, location Cons: small rooms more

Great Value 5/19/2002

The Highland Inn isn't the most luxurious hotel in town, but it's cheap, clean and one of the few hotels in this city located in a walkable neighborhood. I stayed here for a few days before moving to Atlanta and loved being able to walk to all the nearby restaurants and bars. If you're in town for business and need a fast Ethernet connection, find another hotel. But if you're budget conscious and sick of chain hotels, check this place out. Pros: great neighborhood, free breakfast more
