I had a great time out here. We sat on the upper deck and watched the fishermen for a few hours. Cold beer, beautiful views, what more can I say! The staff was very friendly, restrooms were clean, we will be back!! more

Good place to fish. I see a lot of negative reports here about this pier but I have no complaints. I drive 5hours to fish there several times a year. Going to fish there tomorrow. Based on the volume of traffic there during peak fishing times it's best to go with someone that can teach you how to fish if you don't know how, or ask for help from fellow fishermen on the pier. The small staff is often busy running the register, checking coolers, renting and selling equipment, and doing their other duties so they may not always have time to personally assist customers out on the pier. The comment about the guy not checking for a tackle box is unfortunate but hey, people are as they are sometimes. Some people complain about their rules, but what place can you go where there aren't any rules? more

RUDE WORKERS 9/16/2011

This place has horrible workers...went there once because it seemed like a big hype and supposingly it was great to have them back so some hav said. We forgot out tackle box right outside there door on a weekday. I get it that if we forget something we will just take it as a lost. BUT we tried to call to ask if they could see if it is still there before we drove all the way back for nothing....the guy who answered the phone said ""If its there then it is""...he didnt even bother to go look. What a jerk!! and they charge people to fish there to add his rude personality..you might as well go elsewhere to fish. more

To expensive, bath rooms only allow 1 person at a time, can't bring your own alchol, theirs is more expensive then the clubs, they play the same 5 songs over & over & over, staff know nothing about fishing, tides, weather they only know how to operate the cash register. Location is great and it is clean. I have alot of good memories on the pier that go back to 1987 thru IKE the rest will be made on the rocks in front of the pier when surf conditions are good or on other less expensive pier such as 18th street pier in San Leon $6.00 a person & BYOB more

ONLY FISH HERE IF YOU ARE A TOURIST 4/24/2011

This fishing pier is mainly for tourist, which is fine if that is what you are. Would be a good time to spend with your family on vacation. If you are a true fisherman this is not the place for you. The woman who work the pier are not helpful and know very little. Went fishing the other day with my family and I asked what the weather forcast was and she had no idea. Ever heard of NOAA? No old salts here except the sweet old man who cleans the pier, want to talk to someone with charcter then give him a hollar. more
