We had our 2001 Jeep Cherokee at 59 Auto to get the window fixed. We paid 59 Auto a total of $381 for the work. We were charged $188 for the part and $172 for labor. The book time to do this job is 1.5 hours, but I'm sure it took less than 1 hour to do the job, so 59 Auto charged $172 per hour for labor to do the job. Highly-paid business consultants don't make $175 per hour, nor should auto technicians or shops. With the right tools, I could have done this job in an hour. I called Autozone in Plainfield. They sell the exact same part for $99 with a lifetime warranty. Having knowledge of the auto retail industry, I know they bought the part for $50 or less since they mark up all parts by 100%. Since 59 Auto charged me $188 for the part, and I'm sure 59 Auto's cost is somewhere close to Autozone's part cost of $50, 59 Auto is making $138 on that one part, or a 275% part mark up. That's outrageous ! Simply put, 59 Auto overcharged me by a considerable amount. Don't get me wrong, I strongly believe 59 Auto should make money on your service and parts. I just don't think
