Best

This restaurant has excellent service, food, and environment. I especially like the rotiserrie chicken! Great place to go after spending time in Old Sac or shopping at Downtown ...

Terrible service, terrible food. 7/13/2008

Having not gone out all during the week, we were looking for a place to enjoy a good meal. UNFORTUNATELY, we ended up going to the 4th Street Grille. A former co-worker had said it was one of the best restaurants, so we gave it a shot. First off, it was completely empty on a Saturday evening, and yes, the economy is doing terrible, but this should have raised a huge red flag. Service was very unattentive and I haven't even gotten onto the food yet. The calimari was actually the high point. It was light and flakey crusted, so that was the one positive. However the lemon aioli sauce had too much lemon in it. Next came our entrees: capellini pasta with shrimp and the ""roasted"" chicken on penne pasta. Both pastas were overcooked. They cooked the pastas and the sauce separately and then they cooked it some more when they combined them. The shrimp in the pasta was juicy, but even that couldn't make the dish any better. The worst part was the ""roasted"" chicken pasta. The chicken was grilled, not roasted. Also, the first time it came out, it was way overcooked and way too salty. We asked for another one, and we got something that lacked all the ingredients. Just cause a customer lets you know that the dish was way too salty, doesn't mean you should eliminate everything from the dish (i.e. parmesan cheese, pancietta, mushrooms, and the chicken). Just adjust the seasoning. Do not even bother with this restaurant. The other customers, the few that were there, didn't seem too excited about their food either. The ambience was not great either as the employees had no people to wait on, so they just had conversations at the bar that easily transferred over to the dining area. I wish there was an option for ""0"" stars, as I will never come back here ever again. Pros: Free parking Cons: Bad food, bad service, bad ambience. more

Don't expect good service. 2/15/2007

Food is good, but, service is slow. Servers inattentive. They charge 19% gratuity for parties of 6 so there is no incentive for good service. more
