42nd Street Oyster Bar

I recently went to 42nd Street Oyster Bar & Seafood Grill with a large group from my office. We received great service and everyone enjoyed the delicious food - even the guy allergic to seafood found something he could enjoy! I was feeling a little overwhelmed with all the fried food I'd eaten at the NC State Fair, so I opted for a dish of steamed shrimp and a side salad! Yummy! Of course I stuffed myself to the gills with 42nd's amazing hush puppies. They really are the best I've ever had. They have a full bar and an amazing dessert menu. Hey, even the bathrooms are nice. You will feel comfortable here on a fancy date, or if it's just you and the boys wanting to watch the game. If you go, make reservations as this place fills up fast even on a week night. more

When I worked downtown, this was a restaurant we often frequented for lunch. I especially enjoyed the fresh hushpuppies they bring to the table when you order and could make a meal out of them without much effort. They offer pretty much any kind of seafood you want, cooked almost any way you want it. For the non-seafood eaters, they also have a good selection of salads and non-fishy entrees. more

42nd street oyster bar is a raleigh favorite for classy dining.The food here is absolutly fantastic, I'm not a seafood fan, and have found plenty of great entrees that arn't ocean related. 42nd street can also be anice place to stop in just for a few drinks with friends. This is a nice upscale restaurant and a tremendous asset to the raleigh area. more

42nd Street Oyster Bar and Seafood Grill in downtown Raleigh is an excellent bar and grill. Don't like oysters? That is fine. They have SO much more than that here. Their menu will please anybody - even the non-seafood eater. While you are there, try their house wines too. They are delectable. more
