400 Degrees

I have loved hot chicken for many years. I have morned the loss of Hot Chicken Dot Com and others. Prince's is to rude and slow. Now Finally great hot chicken and great friendly service. I wish they would give you a few more pickles but the chicken is moist and fresh. I recommend you call ahead and they will have it ready for you. This is some of the BEST Hot Chicken I have ever had. more

I like it hot, but still haven't made it past 200 degrees yet. I do think it's better than Prince's, which doesn't come easy to say. Maybe it's the deep frying vs the skillet, but I like the breading better. Whew, Soon shall I get the 400, will have plenty of milk and cheese on hand. more

My first experience with this chicken was in Arizona after it had been frozen for a number of day's. My Father in law found this wonderful place on a trip home to Nashville. i absolutely fell in love.... two years later i have moved my family and i back to nashville and wanted to try it fresh........ i went back on wednesday of this week and its already friday and i have made a second trip this time with enough chicken brought home to feed a small army. i haven't ever found a hot chicken that has tasted this good.... i used to drive to memphis once a month for guss's fried chicken. now just down the street a little slice of heaven. i hope you all get to experience this awesome place. i know you will enjoy it as much as i do. 400 degrees is great and the neighborhood adds to the ambiance. The chicken is amazing and the heat lasts for days. davis is a whimp. The lady that owns the place is a real sweetheart and treats everyone great. When I take my white butt down in the hood for this chicken, I feel it a privelage to be there and to eat and leave safe. I have never had a problem there or Princes for that matter...it's like a visitor to another country. The best ""real"" food is in the hood in any town you go to...and 400 degrees is the best. First off, I've never been so sick in my life, and not from the heat but from the grease. It was the greasiest mess I've ever put in my mouth. It was plenty hot, the reason I was scoping out a hot chicken lunch, but the grease overpowered any flavor from the chicken. My food took over an hour and did I mention I was sick? I was hesitant to try this new 400 thang. I read the newpaper article when they first opened. Still didn't try it. I live right down the street and pass it everyday. However I heard some peeps talking about it in the bottom and I decided to try it. I could kick myself for not trying it sooner. Do you know how many times I could have had a fresh ungreasy chicken breast? I could just kick myself. Im hooked now and so is my family. The atmosphere is very friendly, service is prompt, food is good and fresh (always). I highly recommend 400. Once you try this no other chicken can compare (not even Princess). Keep up the good work. This place is better than Prince's, and that is saying something. I think the flavor at 400 Degrees is better, the chicken is less greasy, and their service is much better too. Call your order in if you can since hot chicken takes a while to make. Anyone who loves spicy food should try the 200 degree flavor. I could not handle the 400 Degree, and I eat Hot at Prince's. So I must admit I was leary to try this place having been a dedicated Prince's fan for a year now. However, decided to give it a try. Wow! You can get the chicken 0 degrees, 100 degrees, 200 degrees, or 400 degrees. I haven't tried the 400 degrees yet but the 200 degree will light you up pretty good. The chicken is served the standard hot chicken way as a breast or thigh quarter with two slices of white bread and pickles. However, where this place varies from Prince's is that they deep fry their chicken as opposed to skillet frying it.
