Terrible experience, lack of professional etiquette. I generally liked 3 Elements Healing Arts Center. I went in for an acupuncture session with Mary. The first session was great, I thought she was reasonably knowledgeable and had very relevant things to say about the muscles I was having issues with. I particularly liked this fact because the few other good acupuncturists I've visited, where not fluent in English. While their service was good, their lack of communication left me wanting more. \r

It took some time for me to schedule a second appointment with Mary because her prices are higher then most other acupuncturists. She informed me that she does accept some forms of insurance. When I spoke to her on the phone, a week in advance, she told me that I should come in 20 minutes before my appointment with my insurance information and she would call in order to check if they would cover the services (with a no-big-deal tone of voice). I called the center a day before my appointment in order to give them my insurance information in advance. When I came in for my appointment, nothing was said to me. Before Mary was ready to see me, I asked her if she had any luck with my insurance provider. She tells me that she has been ""swamped"" and was unable to even check on the availability. She implied that giving her my insurance information a day in advance was too late and that she actually checks every patient's availability once a week because it is very time consuming. Contrary to what she told me over the phone, She proceeds to tells me that I cannot expect to give her my insurance information a day before and have my service covered the next day. I don't know what to expect because I am not a medical professional, and frankly, neither is she. She was very rude and I had a strong suspicion that Mary was attempting to force me to pay cash for that day's service. \r

My biggest gripe with her, is her lack of professionalism and etiquette. Throughout my discussion with her she exhibit, what I felt was, a complete lack of concern or accommodation. She essentially looked for ways to shift the blame on me, as opposed to exploring options to remedy the confusion. \r

I would have had no issue with this situation if: 1) I was not told I could bring my info and have it verified 20 minutes before my appointment; and 2) warned that it may actually take days to verify my insurance and that the current appointment I made was very likely to require a payment in cash. \r

All in all, I left without receiving any services. I was very turned off by Mary's attitude and her demeanor. I will never come back to 3 Elements nor will I ever recommend Mary to anyone. I am sincerely convinced that her biggest concern was to put money in her pocket, that day.
