Best

Everything that I have seen on their menu is just the best. All their food is just extraordinarily great. Like the person above said it does look a little shady from the outside...

Worst

I enjoy eating all over this island and have found some really great places to eat. I got a chance to take some of my office staff to this for many of their 10 year anniversary. ...

SLOWEST Service in all of Honolulu! 10/3/2009

I went to this restaurant with a friend before going to another venue we needed to be there at 9pm. So we made reservations for 7pm and expressed that we needed to attend another function afterwards and felt that two hours was a lot of time for our meal and even dessert of we wanted. We arrived promptly at 7pm and the server said our tables weren't ready and suggested we sit at the bar until they were made up. Neither of us being drinkers we just stood near the bar until our table was ready. My watched showed 7:38 by the time we were seated. The restaurant was completely empty. We looked over the menu while waited at the bar and knew exactly what we wanted. It took the waiter another half an hour before we actually got any service. We again expressed that we needed to attend another function at 9pm and we need to rush this. After an hour of wated time I changed my menu selection to something I felt would take less time to prepare. The item was somewhat less expensive compared to the items we originally planned to order. But after seeing how slow the service is, we decided to split an appetizer and have just a salad each. This appeared to make the waiter a bit gruff and our service was further reduced to ignored after the salads arrived. By this time it was 8:30 and we just started to eat. After scoffing down our meals like hungry dogs, we asked our server if we could get the check already. The waiter mentioned something about a guaranteed gratuity (I didn't hear the whole story since I did not pay for the meal). By the time we left, it was well over 9:20. I could tell from my date that this meal ruined his/my evening and now will never go back to this restaurant ever again! I know the meal was pricey even if for just the salad and appetizer, and tip. I think we would have enjoyed our meal much more had we gone to California Pizza Kitchen. Pros: Friendly service at first Cons: attitude more

Not what I expected 7/18/2006

I enjoy eating all over this island and have found some really great places to eat. I got a chance to take some of my office staff to this for many of their 10 year anniversary. A total of about 7 of us. The ambience was nice when we first arrived...the layout of tables, bars, and booth were awkward. I ordered one the steak choices and my guest ordered mostly seafood entrees. The initial service was very nice and we were shown many smiles, given the descriptions of the various items we were curious about but then after we ordered no one seemed to remember we were there. (I like to rate my service at a restaurant on how quickly they refill my water glass...they failed). The food came out and it all looked wonderful and tasty...that was as far as it went though. My steak though cooked correctly was tough and extremely salty. The seafood entree's were so-so to bland my guests replied. Cocktails and desserts were good...but that was it in my opinion. I wouldn't want to go and spend that kind of money again. Sorry... Pros: cocktails, dessert, restrooms were clean Cons: food quality, price, ambience and atmosphere more

Gotta agree with other glowing reviews! 8/3/2003

In simple words: great food, great service, great atmosphere (not pretentious, but an excuse to get out of those shorts and slippas!), great wine, great overall. Highly recommend. more
