Great chinese value 3/14/2009

Good value for the price...nice selection of food. Do not count on the desserts, though...typical chinese buffet dessert selection...frozen and sans taste. Wait staff hover nearby and talk about patrons in obvious manner. Nice atmosphere and family friendly. Pros: Atmosphere, price, selection Cons: Wait staff hover more

Hidden Chinese Gem in the Triangle 12/21/2008

Oooops....I meant to leave this review for the Cary, NC location! Pros: Amazing Food Cons: Not many people seem to notice it because its an odd location. I want it to stay in business forever. more

Best Chinese in NC 12/12/2008

Service is as unbilizible. Food is amazing for a Buffet and there are many choices. The orange chiken is the best. You have missed out on great chinese food if you have not come to 35 chinese resturaunt. Pros: Everyting Cons: nothing more

Great family environment, great customer service 11/10/2007

This is the best chinese buffet in the triangle. I have visited alot of them and 35 is the only one I would recommend. They serve quality food and it is a very pleasant environment. Great customer service everytime I have visited. more

Worst Chinese Food 10/17/2007

I have eaten at 35 Chinese on several occasions and it has been terrible each time. The food is cheap and they leave it out under the lights for hours so that by the time you get it, it's tough, chewy, lukewarm, and foul. One time, I actually had a staple fried into the batter of my sweet and sour chicken! Then they tried to deny it was their fault! Seriously, this place gets good ratings because undergrads can eat a ton for cheap, but it is very disgusting. AVOID!!! Cons: The food. more

Cheap Eats - Tasty Chinese Buffet 6/9/2007

Let me begin by saying that I hate buffets. They usually provide lots of quantity with very little quality. However, 35 is an exception. Like any buffet, it is best to dine during peak hours when the food turns over quickly. At those times, you will find that the food is fresh and well-prepared. Although the majority of it is geared to American tastes (lots of batter-fried then sauced dishes), there are a some traditional Chinese dishes as well. They always have very tasty appetizers (steamed shrimp dumplings, shu mai, chicken wings, spring rolls, potstickers, etc.), good Singapore noodles, several chicken, pork and beef entrees, some seafood entrees (including squid, steamed fish, head-on salt & pepper shrimp), and really wonderful vegetables (snow peas, asparagus, green beans, eggplant, spinach). They have a small assortment of fresh and canned fruit, cakes, pastries, and ice cream (or is it frozen yogurt?). The price is so reasonable that this is one of the best dinner values in Chapel Hill. Pros: Inexpensive, tasty, wide variety, quick, accomodates large groups more

Rapid Bowel movements for everyone! 1/19/2007

If you like american-ified chinese food in a crummy campus setting - this place is for you! Pros: Enough soy sauce to kick a mule! Cons: Increased Bowel movements! more

Not Clean 9/28/2006

I stopped by 35 and had both buffet and regular Chinese meal with my family on last Suday, and realized the kitchen is totally unclean. Saw the kitchen through a gap, where workers' hands were not wash before food preparation. Then, we just left there, never come back again. The food were not that great either. Cons: Not clean more

Very disappointing 2/26/2006

Though I am usually happy with any Chinese food, 35 was truly disappointing. The food on the buffett is unflavorful and old. My husband ordered off the menu and was equally disappointed. Don't go here! more

Menu good... buffet bad 1/2/2005

I had stopped in a few times with out-of-town friends because the buffet is plentiful, cheap, and 'good enough'. I was invited there for a dinner with a very large group of friends and one asian couple with us told us to avoid the buffet and hit the menu. They were right! The dishes were presented with flavorful sauces and I was totally shocked with my new appreciation for their food. So, send your kids to the buffet, but go for the menu! Pros: Cheap, Plentiful, Great Menu more

Kid Friendly and Good Too 5/22/2004

We visit 35 almost every week. We even have a regular waiter, Rich, who has taught our 7 year old some chinese. The service is always wonderful and the food is incredible. The price is reasonable, especially at lunch and they have a kid's buffet as well for those who don't like chinese food. more

We don't need no stinkin' MSG! 12/24/2002

35 Chinese is a great buffet that uses no MSG in its food. And you don't miss it! The food focuses on presentation, color, and freshness instead. There is a large selection, the service is great, and the place doesn't have that dragons-and-paper-lanterns look. Instead, original art is on the walls and the colors are soft yet interesting. I can't recommend this place enough. Pros: food taste, no MSG, value Cons: crowded on weekends more

Gotta eat here 11/9/2002

35 is an awesome buffet. As with most buffets, the spice is very mild, so if you like it spicy order off the menu. more

good buffet 10/29/2002

Very good buffet with lots of different selections. Despite the cheesy decor left over from whatever restaurant was there last, it's clean and dark with a nice atmosphere. Also a very nice staff. Pros: good buffet, good service, parking more

Excellent value buffet! 10/11/2002

The buffet here puts other Chinese buffets to shame! Wide selection of dishes, dishes to please vegetarians and health-conscious people as well as those customers seeking deep-fried decadence. The desert is a nice touch too, from fresh fruit to brownies and cookies. They even have American favorites such as french fries and fried clams on the buffet. You will defnitely get good value for your money here, and the food is fantastic! more

The Golden Corral of Chinese 7/5/2002

If you enjoy cheap eats at your own pace in the buffet line-- enjoy. The perfect place for the college student's one meal for the day, but for the rest of us... it's merely a change of pace at the right price. more

Delicious 6/30/2002

Very good buffet. If you like egg rolls come here to let your mouth water in awe. Some outragiously excellent chicken. Come with a large appetite. Pros: Food more
