2J's Automotive "Your Transmission Physician"

We had the option to take our vehicle into the dealership for our 65 thousand mile checkup, but we opted to go to 2J's Automotive instead. We were quite satisfied not only with the price but also with their service. It was our first time using them. What we were really impressed with was that subsequent to our service call we went in for a couple of issues and they didn't charge us a fee for evaluating the vehicle. It was complimentary, and we found out it would be covered under our warranty. more

They are outstanding. We first went to 2J's Automotive after someone had convinced us that we needed $4,000 worth of work done immediately. And, our vehicle was a specially quipped van because our daughter is in a wheelchair, so when our van goes down, we are down. We cannot simply get another vehicle. As we were new to the area, we were referred to 2J's Automotive by our local Chamber of Commerce. They were incredibly honest and really good. And, we ended up paying about $250 rather than the $4,000 we had been quoted. We have used 2J's for several years now, and they have always been honest. Recently, I took my son's truck in to have his oil changed. I was told that he needed to have his transmission fluid changed, too, along with a couple of other things. I decided to take it to a transmission place and let them look at it before I went to that extra expense. Because someone had recommended 2J's Automotive, I went there. Very quickly I was told that my fluid was fine and there was no need to have the fluid changed. I was relieved to find out that I wouldn't have to spend the money! more

When our transmission went out in our SUV, we took it to Cottman in Saginaw. They quoted us a price of only about $800. The next day they said it was actually going to be more like $1100. After it was all said and done it wound up costing about $1250. Even more irritating when they put the car back together they forgot to hook up some air filter hose. For days my car would cut out and I was really scared to drive it. I took it back to Cottman's and they looked at it and suggested what part it might be. He said it would probably only cost about $12. $20 dollars later the part was on (installed by my husband) and the problem was still evident. I called them again and they told me it was nothing they could fix because it had nothing to do with the transmission. That weekend I took it to my mechanic and he immediately found the hose that was not hooked up! I drove home happy - nearly giddy!
