Great Burgers!! 8/19/2010

Great find ! My boyfriend had been in the mood for a burger, so he did some research and found out about 26 beach. As soon as we walked in we just know it was gonna be good, every thing about the place was friendly and inviting. We sat on the sunny ""garden style side"" which was perfect, had a cool relaxed vibe. Service was great. We both ordered there famous burger which was the best burger I've had in LA. It ended up being a really nice time. more

Huge Portions of Delicious Food 5/9/2010

The most reasonably priced brunch you'll find this side of Sepulveda, you can easily share one of their dozens of egg scrambles and amazing French toasts. My favorite is hands down the ""Polar Bear,"" which consists of two French toast croissants stuffed with while chocolate, berries and topped with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. Yes! more

Hidden Gem of Burgers 12/15/2009

26 Beach is...well interesting. The food is fantastic, however the decor is like Grandma's dining room meets a Southern cafe. It's very odd to say the least. The exterior is simple, it's mostly a brick building. The interior is where the decor gets nutty. There are tacky old statues and pieces of old beat up furniture, old dressers, random mis-mosh of tables and chairs. The dining room is much more put together and it feels like you're in a different restaurant. They two rooms don't go together at all. THE BOMBAY BURGER... The food, as I said is great, especially the BURGERS! 26 Beach has an interesting menu, very eclectic mix of Breakfast, which includes 12 french toast options, 10 Hawaiian Style Royals, 7 delicious pasta scrambles then a few of the typical breakfast items. If you go for breakfast you must try the The Polar Bear, it's 2 French ""croissants"" toasts with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, fresh berries, Melba sauce and grated with white chocolate. This thing is more like a dessert, but don't be scared, take a chance and go for it. Everyone knows sugar is the perfect food. That's why God invented it for us. For all the great breakfast options they have I was extremely disappointed with the Breakfast Sandwich, it was dry, the bread was too thick and there was entirely too much lettuce. So like an ugly child just pretend it doesn't exist and pay attention to one of the other menu items. THE HICKORY BURGER... When it comes to the rest of the menu, they have over 20 salads, pastas, pizzas, sandwiches and 17 delicious, creative and interesting Burgers! All their burgers are 100% Angus Beef, but can be substituted for Kobe upon request. Stick with the Angus, Kobe is intended to be eaten as a steak, it's not meant to be ground and is overrated for burgers. My favorite burger is the Brunch Burger, a fried egg, thick and delicious applewood bacon and cheddar on top of the burger with mayo, lettuce and a tomato. The egg, applewood bacon and cheddar combined with the tasty juicy burger is simply delicious. This is one of the best burgers I've ever had. The bun was solid, the meat was cooked to medium rare as requested and it held together as I ate it. I have no complaints with their burgers, except that I want to eat them all the time. Besides The Brunch Burger they have a plethora of very interesting other burger options like: Caprese Burger - fresh melted mozzarella, heirloom tomato, baby mixed greens and drizzle of balsamic reduction. Bombay Burger - coconut curry sauce, mango chutney, lettuce and tomato. Italian Burger - mushrooms, marinara sauce, mozzarella, lettuce and tomato. And for all you sissies or sucky people that don't eat meat, they also offer a Namaste ""Veggie"" Burger which is made with grains, legumes and vegetables. As well as the Gobbler a thick hand formed turkey burger and the Salmon Club, a grilled hand formed salmon patty burger. If you really wanna try something different when it comes to burgers, 26 Beach Cafe does something with a burger I've never seen before and it's gotta be the oddest burger on the menu, the P B & J. It is exactly what it sounds like, creamy Skippy's peanut butter & Knott's Berry strawberry jam on top of the Angus Patty. This isn't really my style of a burger, but hell they do a great burger so if you like burgers and P B & J, I bet you'd love it....well maybe... One of my favorite breakfast spots in all of LA! 4/20/2009

This is one of my favorite breakfast spots in all of LA! Whether I have a simple fruit/yogurt parfait, or go for a delicious french toast or egg/noodle combo... it's all a stand out! Great drinks and service and would recommend to anyone! Pros: One-of-a-kind food, darling atmosphere! Cons: Large portions more

Great food 1/9/2009

The setting here is very nice! Very quaint. The turkey burger is one of the best I've had. Definitely recommend this place for brunch, but make sure you have reservations. more

26 Beach 12/11/2008

The first time I cam here was for Mother's Day and it was honestly one of the best brunches I've ever been to. Despite the wait, I occupied myself with the best champagne and peach nectar juice. I highly suggest this place and the decor is really cute! more

first timer 6/15/2008

Had Father's day Breakfast here. First time here and had a good time! Service was alright by server, but buser was great! Food took a while, but, they were busy. Had Spicy Pork Chop and Eggs. Chop was moist, blk. beans good and eggs done correctly. Great buzz in resturant and would go back! Menu was creative and different enough to want us to come back, Pros: creative menu Cons: service more

Hidden Venice Gem 2/27/2008

Venice is a great neighborhood for eclectic food places and trendy eateries which is why 26 Beach stands out: it is neither. It's just a great little place that is often overlooked because it fronts onto Washington and parking can be dicey on occasion. My boyfriend and I have been coming here for dinner for the last few years when we're just craving a nice dinner and a good bottle of wine and don't want to go to the trouble ourselves. I think combined we've probably had almost everything on the menu. Some favorites are the fresh fruit salad which, especially in the summer, is a great substitute for dessert. I'm a big fan of the meatloaf - it's just to my liking without all those annoying veggies taking up valuable meat space. And the garlic mashed potatoes that come with it are reason enough to eat here. The chocolate cake and apple crisp are always amazing and we usually get one or the other even if we're completely full and can't eat another bite. We've also never had a problem with the service and have been seated promptly with a reservation on the weekends and without on weeknights. Pros: Good food, good wine, good service Cons: Parking can be tricky, weekends are crowded more

Horrible Overpriced Breakfast 1/28/2008

We went for breakfast and it was really disappointing. My friend ordered the Huevos Rancheros....it was actually only one egg with a small sponnful of beans on the side. He had to ask for tortillas. I ordered a breakfast sandwhich which was served with french fries. The sandwich was bland and french fries for breakfast was just too greasy for me. The waiter was not very friendly or attentive even though they weren't busy at all. The bill was over $30 for a two bad breakfast meals. I won't be going back. more

Great hamberger 11/28/2007

Very enjoyable meal. First time at this restaurant. Drinks and salads came quickly. Food did take a little longer.then maybe it should have. more

Good service, great burgers 5/23/2007

26 Beach offers Italian-American style pizza, pasta, and gourmet sandwiches and burgers. Served by a friendly and courteous staff underneath the canopied Ivy-esque patio, or indoors amidst an art-deco inspired dining room, this restaurant promises that you'll leave with a full belly, if not a doggy bag. Pros: Fresh ingredients, intriguing menu Cons: Parking tends to be tricky on the weekends more

Great Behavior 5/19/2007

Polite and respectful verbage and tone will get you the best service in the world, you could ask for the world with these displays of emotional intellignece. Best of luck with your dining experiences and more importantly your human interactions. Great food! more

destination place thats worth the drive 5/17/2007

I don't know what people are talking about, I make it a point to visit this place everytime I'm in town from New York. Everyone is extremely nice from managers to servers. Wine list could be a little bit bigger but they have gotten a really solid selection. The menu is amazing, it can satisfy everyones' desire. Although portions are enourmous but it seems that people in LA lilke that. The ambience that's created by the design of the place is very calming. Pros: ambience, food. Cons: none that I have more

WORST, WORST, WORST experience ever!!!! 4/15/2007

Don't recommend at all. We were there (party of 3) on today, 04/16/07, at around 1:30 PM. We got seated by the manager pretty quickly which seemed very promising to us. After about 15 minutes of waiting, the waitress came to us and took our order around 1:45. After about 10 minutes after that we received our appetizer. And then that was it. No one came to the table after that. At about 2:15 after seeing other tables that arrived after us getting their orders, we started getting frustrated, so we asked for our waitress. She came to our table and said that she doesn't know what is going on with our food and she'll go check. At 2:25, after not hearing from her we decided that we were done waiting and decided to pay for our sodas and leave. As we walked to the front to pay our check, one waitress tried to convince us to stay as our food will be ready in a minute. As we were paying our bill the manager came forward with the food. We said that we don't want the food anymore. He said that we only ordered the food at 1:47 and it has only been 39 minutes since we ordered. Isn't that funny the manager trying to justify that it has only been 39 minutes since we ordered. He then resumed explaining that they were giving us time to work on our appetizers. Excuse me but what a pathetic excuse. We said it is OK and we don't want the food anymore. And that was it. No apology from anybody. No the waitress, not even the manager. He then comes back and says if we want to take the food home for ""Free"" as he won't be able to resell it to anybody anymore. Can you believe that? Pros: Valet parking at the front. Cons: No one taking responsibility. Not even the manager. more

You can't miss... 12/18/2006

You'll never miss if you take guests to this restaurant... the variety is huge, and the ambiance is much better than say, Cheesecake Factory or another chain. Eggplant Parmesean, the Madeira Chicken Pasta and an awesome Ceasar Salad plus the very cute patio make this perfect California dining. Plus - a killer breakfast menu for those who love to get their sugar fix in the morning. Pros: Ambiance, food, extensive menu more

Great food, creative menu, cute atmosphere 11/8/2006

I thought the dining room on the covered patio was cutely decorated. Had a nice ambience with the mismatched china and candlesticks. I found the menu to have such a great variety of foods and something for breakfast and non-breakfast diners. The service was very slow and I had to ask a few times for the side item that I had ordered with my meal. The server kept politely apologizing, but after a while I became pretty annoyed. Food was great, but they need more people in the kitchen! Pros: atmosphere and menu Cons: service more

A nice surprise 8/15/2006

Upon entering this restaurant I wasn't quite sure what to expect. One dining room reminded me of a mom and pop place with bad wallpaper. The other side was diming lit and resembled a nice restaurant that looked like it should belong to a steakhouse. But I was surprised by the food! Not only were the portions big but they were good! On the night I went they had their windows open instead of relying on air conditioning. I don't know if that is something they do all the time but to be on the safe side go later if you like to dine and be cool. Pros: Good sized portions Cons: bar is small more
