We had a small garage fire on 7/3 and contracted with 24Restore to clean up and rebuild. It's been a nightmare since Day 1. Demo crews showed up on schedule but someone forgot to order a dumpster, delaying demo until the following week. Since then, it's been nothing but delays and mismanagement by the PM (Swayze who supposely quit a couple weeks ago), Sean Hawkins (construction lead), and everyone else. Soda blasters showing up on the wrong day, carpenters not completing the boxing in of the new soffit structure, materials ordered incorrectly or order months after it should have been, being told work was scheduled for a specific day only to be told weeks later "I don't see anything on the schedule" and other non-stop nonsense. We gave them some siding info for the main portion on 7/28 which they acknowledged receipt of. They had to do a sample match for some shakes we had which should only take 7-10 days. It took them 6 weeks and siding wasn't ordered until the first week of October! They replaced sheathing in on 8/29, but didn't put a vapor barrier up, leaving brand new (and old) sheathing exposed for 2 months now despite numerous request to have Tyvek or something put up.
They have finally agreed to let us out of our contract, but they're delaying that too. Scheduled a meeting for today last week, but then canceled it Monday for some BS internal meeting. They're refusing to get us a change order in a timely manner, refusing to give us the information of the siding order so our new contractor can order it, and refusing to give us verification that they paid their electrician subcontractor who may be a lien on the house. They want to meet in person (which we have no desire to do) but are demanding we come to their office.
Two competitors told us this small project should have been done by mid-September. Do yourself a favor - work with Paul Davis or Restoration Network instead.
