Ryan! 10/12/2010

I have been going to Ryan for years for haircuts and brow waxes. He's great. I don't have to try and explain what I'm looking for. He knows exactly what I like and want. He's not only a talented hair stylist, but he's also an artist - and it shows in his hairstyling! I recommend Ryan to everyone. He's funny, personable, has a great eye and is honest and trustworthy (which is what we all want from our hair stylist!). more

The one and only place to get a hairtcut period! 10/10/2010

Let me put it this way, I've spent 37 years traveling around the world and lived in many major cities, including Paris, Los Angeles, Moscow, among others. I am not the type that desire a scalp massage but I also don't want my haircut done at a sport's clips. I've always left a salon feeling a little frustrated because I could never quite get what I wanted. Until now I felt like it was a lost cause, then I walked into Robert Arriaga Salon. I met Robert and showed him a picture of what I wanted and to my amazement for the first time ever I felt like I was leaving with exactly what I wanted. I guess my travels are over unless I can convince Robert to move with me. Thank you Robert for making me feel like a million bucks ;D more

Great shape 10/6/2010

Just before I left for a vacation, I had my hair cut by Robert. I went to Maine and spent a day hiking in misty, foggy weather. That night as I was leaving a restaurant a woman told me my hair looked great. It's the hair cut I told her. Even though I have fine hair, Robert always creates the perfect style. I wouldn't trust my hair to anyone else. more

Great Salon in Downtown KC! 10/5/2010

This salon downtown is amazing! My sister and I walked by it numerous times on our route. Every time I looked in I thought what a beautiful salon. A friend recommended going to Jessica for cut and color. I don't trust just anyone to do blonde coloring in my hair. Jessica took what I said and totally gave me the look I was wanting. The staff is very friendly. From the minute I walked in the door everyone greated me and offered me something to drink. The contempary design is beautiful, which Robert designed himself. I would HIGHLY recommend Jessica and the Robert Arriaga Salon. more

A Family Affair with ROBERT 10/4/2010

Robert is amazing! An artist in the true sense of the word. I love his scalp massages and his complimentary drinks but most of all I love how he cuts and colors my hair! He listens to me and merges my vision with his. I have never had a bad haircut or anything but great color. He studied at the Vidal Sassoon school in LA and he knows his stuff from tools to products and he keeps up witih the latest trends. I have been with him for 5 years and counting and now both my son and husband go to him! The salon is very urban, diverse and stylish, lots of energy and everyone is so friendly. If you want a great, new look or just want to improve on what you have, Robert is the guy. more

Great location, Great drinks and Ryan always does a great job. I recently traveled to Europe and the stylists there tell me whoever cut my hair last did a great job and they emulate the same style and cut. He knows his business. Cant wait for another cut and shot of Patron. more

Ryan Barker Rocks! 9/23/2010

As a new comer to KC, I was looking for a great salon - fell in love with Robert Arriaga's near P&L. Great decor and energy, not to mention the friendly people and terrific drink selection. :-) Ryan Barker was terrific. He made sure I was happy with my highlights and was very fun in the process. I now have a huge list of places to eat, shop, get art and socialize in KC thanks to Ryan....AND my hair looks great. more

This is what a salon experience should be, incredible welcome when you walk in the door, immediate feeling of you are welcome in their place of business. The energy of people watching out the incredibly clean front windows, spotless salon through out. Then there was Ryan, he was prepared, and rolling on my hair within minutes. Knew exactly what to do, how i wanted it to look, took his ideas and created the best hair I have ever had in my life. HOT is how it was described. Even stopped people on the street leaving it was such a great color and cut for me. Please pick up the phone and make an appointment with Ryan, you will love him, your hair and the entire salon team. Ryan will now be stuck with me and my hair for ever!!!! more

TOP SALON ATMOSPHERE 9/14/2010

I went to Robert Arriaga Salon because my stylist started working there. It was wonderfu! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I felt very cozy and comfortable. Ivar Strong, whipped my hair into total submission. My hair has never looked or felt better, soft and silky, not to mention the hair cut he gave me. I have never allowed anyone to cut my hair on the first appointment, but I let him. I was so shocked at how gorgeous my hair turned out that I had to leave my old stylist of many years. Ivar, keep doing what you do! more

I went to Robert Arriaga Salon based upon all the WONDERFUL, FABULOUS reviews I read on this site!! I took the advice of many, and made an appointment with the ROCK STAR STUD...RYAN BARKER!! He's a NATURAL!! I could tell from the moment I sat down in his chair, that he instinctively KNEW about hair. Needless to say, i was NOT disappointed!! You don't need to stay in the suburbs and look like everyone else...go see Ryan and be yourself...only ""Ryan-ized!!"" LOVE HIM!!!! more

The BEST salon in KC! 9/1/2010

I was introduced to Robert Arriaga Salon by a friend whose hair always looked about a hundred times better than mine. I will never go back to my old salon! Everyone there is so friendly and the ambiance is eclectic and relaxing. Robert is wonderful! My hair is extremely thick and hard to handle but Robert somehow manages to not only tame it, but to cut it into something that looks healthy and stylish. He is so attentive and personable and doles out great tips for the not so hair savvy people like me. Plus he shares my affinity for the History Channel... what more could you ask for? more

The most flexible, talented and beautiful salon downtown, KC 8/14/2010

I have never had such a great experience at a salon than when be pampered at Arriaga! They are flexible with their time and are so accommodating. Whether you are getting a make over, a trim and highlights, or getting your hair blown out, Jessica Cunningham is on top of it. She has a natural talent that shows up when she has finished working her magic. Robert is always on site and is always ready for questions and suggestions. AND they bring you coffee. Perfection. more

Simply stated, Ryan is the best! I've been seeing him for several years now for cuts/color and have always been happy with his work. No matter whether I go to him with my own vision or let him create his own I know that I will leave the salon one happy girl! Oh, and that makes my hubby happy too! more

Cool salon with very personal style! 7/30/2010

Robert has been my primary stylist for 4.5 years (although I've moved to DC, I schedule hometrips to incorporate a haircut/style) and everytime I leave the salon looking 5 years younger (10 if the work week has been particularly horrendous) because I've had a great time and look/feel amazing! \r \r Robert and his team at Robert Arriaga Salon made my downtown KC wedding (new salon location is perfect!) this past Spring absolutely gorgeous! (Particulary Jessica!!--she did my up-do) I didn't want all of the Wedding party ladies looking the same. Robert and his team are so talented and know how to really accentuate the individual beauty of each person. \r \r I highly recommend Robert Arriaga Salon and am quite jealous of all the Kansas Citians who live and work in the downtown area! To have such a sleek salon, talented personable stylists and know you are going to have a fabulous look at a reasonable price---I keep trying to steal him out to the East Coast!!\r \r Thank you, Robert--YOU are the BEST!!\r \r -Amanda more

Ryan is the BEST! 7/28/2010

I went to KINDERGARTEN through high school with Ryan Barker and he and I together are T-R-O-U-B-L-E.....so when I ran into him in KC and found out he was cutting hair, I immediately made an appointment. That was probably around 7-8 years ago??? He is my stylist and I won't let anyone else cut my hair in KC. All I have to do is show up and everything is in his hands, and I always look fabulous! I confess, I'm a Ryan Barker groupie... 7/27/2010

It's true, I've followed Ryan Barker for... hmm, eight, no maybe been nine years now? Well whatever the number, I have zero intention of giving him up which is what led me to Robert Arriaga Salon. \r \r Ryan is the ONLY stylist for a blonde like me, he's truly a master of both color and cut. I'm digging this new salon too, it has an understated, mod quality I really like.\r \r Imagine going to a cool place, sitting in the chair, being able to say ""Do whatever"" with 110% confidence, and getting a hot color and cut EVERY SINGLE TIME... that's what I have with Ryan @ Robert Arriaga, no joke. The Robert Ariaga Salon is great. I would highly recommend Robert and Jessica to anyone! Robert has done my hair for years and I have referred him to many, many friends and family members over the years...we have all been extremely happy!\r \r I met Jessica almost a year ago. Robert and Jessica did mine and my bridesmaids hair and makeup for my wedding. Everyone looked amazing and beautiful thanks to Jessica and Robert. The day was perfect! more

Awesome Salon! 7/1/2010

I got referred to Robert Arriaga from a friend of mine a while back, and now I refuse to go to any other stylist. His salon is chic and attractive, as are his cuts. I used to be one to change stylists, but I will from now on be a client of Roberts! He is so friendly, and a great conversationist. And of course, he does AMAZING hair! I get asked where I got my hair done all the time, i love my cut. more
