Review content:
Indica (Indian Bistro) features food from both Northern and Southern India with an American twist. This is the only restaurant I have encountered in the Oakland area that serves South Indian food, so its especially exciting to finally see dhosas on the menu. I really enjoyed everything I ordered, so definitely experiment with the menu. Some of the food is a little hot/spicy, so make sure you ask the waiter about the spice level prior to ordering.
The wait staff is very helpful and informative. For lunch, they have a daily tiffin...in India "lunch box meals' are referred to as tiffins, so its like a smaller amount of food that's still heavy enough for lunch.
This is a relatively new restaurant, that already has some loyal clientele. The owners are very nice (they both attended nearby CMU for graduate school). Definitely check it out when you get a chance!
