I work for a non-profit organization in Redwood City-We buy all of our t-shirts and supplies from Michaels. After years of doing business with Michaels on Woodside Road the manager told us that we could no longer pay for our supplies with a check b/c it did not have an owners name on check.(It has never had an owners name) Non-profits do not have an owner they are governed by a Board of Directors. I explained this to him & he did not care-I called the executive director and explained the sudden change of heart, she offered to pay over the phone with a credit card instead and the manager said NO! I can't believe his unwillingness to serve those who serve his community! We will no longer support Michaels on Woodside Rd. We have been in business since 1965 and would never dream of treating other business members so poorly!! Since then we have established a working relationship with Michaels in San Mateo-They take our money any shape or form, they are a delightful crew to work with and I would advise everyone to go to that location rather than the one in RWcity- He is an awful manager and should get another job that does not deal with customer service. Too bad for him to lose customers like us!
