Review content:
Had no heat yesterday and last night. Called this morning and got an appointment for this afternoon between 12-4. Took time off from work this afternoon to be here for the service call. Called Genesee at 3:45 and was told that tech would be here within an hour - he arrived around 4:50. When he arrived he cleaned the furnace, got it running and left. (Wife and I went out for dinner after waiting around for several hours for the tech to arrive and do the work.) Came home later and found that the thermostat setting we had set before leaving had basically been ignored. House was now 75 degrees and much too warm for a November night. Fan won't stop, blowers are flaming and won't stop. Turning system off at thermostat won't make furnace stop. How do we turn this thing off?!?! Called Genesee's after-hours number to see if their on-call tech could call and advise. Was told that they won't do that without a service contract. ALL I WANTED WAS A PHONE CALL AND ADVICE! Finally had to shut off the power to furnace, turn off the gas, open a lot of windows to cool the house and deal with this problem another day. I'M NOT AT ALL IMPRESSED WITH THIS UNWILLINGNESS TO HELP WHEN THE TECH HAD JUST LEFT THE HOUSE ABOUT 3 HOURS EARLIER.
