Review content:
I planned a surprise birthday party for my wife on 6/19/10. I gave instructions NOT to call our home phone # because it was a surprise. The driver got lost on the way to my house & called my house for directions, which ended up ruining the surprise. If that was the only issue that evening I would not be writing this negative review but that was just the start.
The Limo picked us up and we were headed to Baltimore for dinner & bowling at Mustang Alley's. Our contract was for 4 hours for $480 with any OT being charged at 30 minute increments of $41.25. This was in writing & I am not disputing it.
We were on our way to dinner when a few of our guests had mentioned how they had been in an accident on this street for a special occasion a few months ago. A few minutes later we were stopped at a stop sign just across from Mustang Alleys. Our driver did not know where it was even though it was across the street so she was looking around for a sign instead of paying attention to the traffic. She pulled out and everyone in our limo yelled, "STOP!" Luckily, we stopped in time as a car zoomed by us nearly causing a major accident. It missed us by a few inches. If not for my guests, that could have ended in disaster.
The other driver had the right of way and our limo driver wasn't paying attention. I don't know how long she had been driving but she clearly didn't drive like someone with any experience. We were all shook up but the accident was averted. We went inside, had dinner and played a few rounds of bowling. When we were finished we called the driver who picked us up and we went home.
We dropped off our guests about 2 blocks from our house and then my wife and I were dropped off at our home at 10:15. This was 45 minutes over our paid time of 4 hours. It wasn't a full hour but apparently they round up when doing their overtime charges.
The driver came over to talk to me as we got out of the limo. She said that she was very sorry for the near accident earlier. She then said she was going to call her boss at the limo company to see if she could get our 45 minute overtime charge taken off for us because of her near accident that night. About 10 minutes later she came back from the car where she was on the phone and said everything was taken care of and we would not be charged. I thanked her and she left.
About a week later, as I was looking at my charge card I noticed a bill from A Platinum Plus Limousines for $82.50. I was very upset since I was promised by the driver (who is an agent for their company) that it would be taken care of and we would not be charged due to her negligent driving & near accident.
I immediately called up the limo company and asked them what had happened and why I received this charge. I spoke with Michael E Green about the extra charge and he told me that the driver did not have the authority to remove that charge for us & that I would have to pay it. I told him how she had obviously made a phone call with someone for 10 minutes and it wasn't just her decision on the issue. He refused to credit us the for the extra charge & was very dismissive about our situation.
Since he wouldn't do the right thing & remove the extra charge I had to call my credit card company to get the charge removed. Shortly after I did that I received a call from Michael E Green again. He asked me why I was disputing the charge. I told him that he knew why I disputed the charge and that's all I said. He was very angry & told me that he was going to be appealing this with the credit card company. Then he went on even further & told me that if he lost the arbitration decision with them that he would get an attorney and sue me for the money and even stated that he would make me pay for the charge along with his lawyer fees. He was being very condescending and not very professional as he tried to bully me into dropping my claim with the credit card company.
