Our family made an afternoon trip out to Royal Oak last fall to pick some apples after we saw a local advertisement. It was a scenic half hour drive form the Northwest suburbs of Chicago and we found the farm easily. We went to the office, grabbed a sack and took our son out to the orchard to pick apples. There seemed to be dozens of varieties for us to choose from, after which we visited the petting zoo and the kids' playground area. The facility is well-kept and the staff are very friendly and helpful Royal Oak Farm is a well-run family business worth visiting!
