Please, in interest of self-preservation, NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH LA FITNESS. Let's be frank, LA Fitness scams people and it starts from the top. Both staff and members are treated as a commodity- an expendable commodity. The memberships are presented at prices $20 or more per month than they are 'worth.' Sales staff hope you buy memberships at $50+ (per month) with initiations of $50- 100 in hopes of getting a bigger commissions. In reality, they can sell memberships for around $30 and still get a commission. If you MUST get a membership at LA Fitness, do so online. You will get a better deal online. However, realize that you are stuffing the pockets of very greedy people who do bad business. The greediest of scams take place in the personal training department. Let it be known that some of the LA Fitness staff members are nice people who are naive to the norms of LA Fitness scams/memberships. That aside, PERSONAL TRAINING AT LA FITNESS IS A RIP-OFF. There are some good trainers at LA, but those trainers only make $6 per session!!! You are encouraged to pay $40- 60 per session, even though sales staff will make commission if they charge you as little as $25- 30 per session. FURTHERMORE, there is no way out of a contract once you sign it. READ EVERY PAGE OF YOUR CONTRACT CAREFULLY- be it training or a general membership. There have been several instances of 'training members' having serious medical conditions, and providing LA Fitness with adequate doctor's notice, and NOT getting out of their contract. There is no such thing as a trial either, once you sign a contract or 'agreement,' you have less than 3 days to cancel, otherwise there is no way you are getting your money back. Sales staff at LA Fitness will lie to your face to get a sale. If you find them out to be liars and confront them after they have sold you, they will avoid you and treat you like you are less than human. There are great fitness facilities out there, don't harm yourself by doing business with a place like LA Fitness.
