Review content:
Before the recent renovations (Summer 2005) I would not have recommended the Carmike Cinema for many reasons: Uncleanliness of the facility, rude and indifferent staff, average sound quality, failure to bring anything but mainstream Hollywood titles to town. However other than their ongoing policy of only showing blockbuster-type uncontroversial films I will have to say my opinion has changed. With the remodeling of the lobby, addition of theater seating, upgraded projectors and sound, and what appears to be a better management style in regards to staff training it now can be an alternative choice for viewing a movie (if there is nothing good showing at my first local choice, the Warner Theater).
Overall, three stars for cleanliness and quality of surroundings. I removed the fourth star for lack of interesting titles.
