Review content:
I had such wonderful hopes when my child went into treatment at Foundations. It looks like such a great place when you read the website. Even when I visited the facility it seemed great. Our experience proved to be opposite of what we read. Some of the staff were just not trained properly to handle such difficult kids. Our child was physically abused by a staff member who had lost control due to my child's defiant behavior. On several occasions my child was provoked into rages by staff members who behaved just as bad as some of the children in the facility. The meds given out by nursing were somehow able to passed between the kids in attempts to get high off of each others meds. The children were not evaluated by nursing after being put in physical holds by the staff. Some of the staff at this facility seemed unwilling to work with me as a parent and did not always give me the information I was seeking until I filed a complaint. Incident reports were rarely correct. I guess in conclusion I feel that the children who need this type of care really need a well educated, patient group of staff members to help them with mental illness and substance abuse issues, as these issues can turn tragic if not properly attended to. Foundations has few of those qualified staff members. I did however give it one star as the facility is clean.
