Review content:
The recently restored Jack's Diner is cleaner and prettier than before, but my wife and I both found our breakfasts to be unremarkable (our waitress was pretty cool though). To begin with, the corned beef hash comes out of a can. Also, the wheat, rye and white breads are all of that bland, generic "Sysco" quality. Additionally, I was nearly done with my $6.99 Farmer's Omelet (coffee not included) before I remembered that one of the ingredients was supposed to be sausage, causing me to look closely to make sure they hadn't forgotten to include it. They hadn't. There just wasn't enough of it there, nor was it flavorful enough, to make an impression. My wife felt about the same regarding her $5.99 Ham Omelet.
Lunch prices looked reasonable, however, and they have a couple of Mexican options, which I can never seem to resist trying at least once, so perhaps we'll go back and give Jack's another try some afternoon. There are far better breakfast options in the area, however (some cheaper, some better, some both), so we won't be back in the A.M. (and I should note that we used to go to Jack's every Sunday morning without fail)
