Review content:
Patrick's Roadhouse holds some kind of sporadic appeal for my husband. We tried it a few years ago, but when he wanted to try it again, all I could remember was that the the dining area is narrow--which meant the food was not memorable. We went this morning and it is now "off the list." The coffee was okay, but the food was all off -- my husband's pancake was rubbery, his eggs, English muffin, and potatoes were cold. He had asked for peanut butter, and when the food arrived the waitress said "they're looking for the peanut butter." Never eat something that hasn't been used in so long the cook doesn't know where it is! My veggie omelet was a weirdly managed mix of cold broccoli, steaming hot spinach and lukewarm eggs, my potatoes were cold, and it all tasted like funky, old oil. There was no orange juice. The tomato juice I ordered was forgotten (just one lonely waitress, so I forgave that and was glad not to have to consume anything else there) and the pretty-looking partial slice of cantaloupe was tasteless. If it isn't worth eating, don't put it on the plate for decoration, please. I couldn't wait to get home to brush & get rid of the lingering bad taste.
Patrick's did seem "family friendly," but if I had children, I would not want them to eat the food. We got there early, so parking was okay. It was nice to look out and see the ocean at breakfast, but I'd rather see it from a better restaurant.
Pros: Decent coffee
Cons: Bad food
