We ate at Stonewolf on Saturday night and it was a poor quality restaurant at a premium price. To start the decor is ugly. The walls are plywood sheets stained to look like dark paneling, so of cource they look like plywood. The walls are strewn with junk, which looks like junk. It's sort of like a cheap version of TGI Fridays circa 1998. They had live entertainment, which was one guy and a guitar stuck in a corner, literally, of the bar. I felt sad for him. The service was ok except for the manager who interrupted our party's conversation to give us a lecture on the difference between aged meat and decaying meat going into detail about enzymes and tissue break down. Very CSI and gross. The wine special was 7 Sisters, no price was listed or mentioned by our waiter so we were unpleasently surprised when the bill came and it was $7.50 a glass. It's $9.99 a bottle at Lucas Liquor. The food ranged from mediocre to edible. The appitizers were a variety of Sam's Club battered in a bag foods served at room temperature with Ragu sauce from a jar. The salad was bagged lettuce and bagged shredded cheese with croutons from, you guessed it, a bag. I had a cesar and it came with bagged romain, jarred parmesean, bagged coutons, but here's the surprise, vinegar and oil dressing. With no seasoning. Just bland. They don't have traditional cesar dressing, but they call it cesar salad on the menu. And charge an extra $1.50 for it. They also charge $1.50 for everything that is not a baked potato with your meal. The steaks were cold, but tender, skimpy but flavorful and did not make-up for all the previous boring food. The shrimp was cold and tiny. The scallops were cold and fishy. The desserts offered were a cookie on plate with ice cream and hersheys syrup drizzed over, or a brownie on plate with ice cream and hersheys syrup drizzled over, or a cupcaked filled with hersheys syrup. They don't cook anything here except the steaks. Everything else is just assembled in the kitchen. Not good. Not good at all. This place is on its way out. Not even all those extra $1.50s can save them. The owner supposedly has 50 years experince in food. He must not have been paying attention the first 49. If you want to go out in Wildwood go to Table 3. Your bill will be about the same but the food is really good, the patio is beautiful and the live music is great.
