As you enter the restaurant you feel that you have stepped into a timeless restaurant in New Orleans with its painted brick walls, pressed tin ceiling and antique ceiling fans. At the restaurant, begin with a great choice of appetizers (ranging from $6 to $10) include Fried Okra with Creole Mustard Sauce, Crawfish Popcorn and Alligator Sauce Piquant. The traditional Gumbos are mouth watering ($5 a cup; $10 for a bowl); chock full of chicken, sausage and seafood, fragrant with flavor. Main courses (ranging from $14 to $22) include classic Jambalaya, Crawfish Etouffee sautéed in a seafood based Roux Sauce and Lenore’s Chicken – thinly pounded chicken breast stuffed with Andouille dressing with cheese Hollandaise. Desserts (from $6) lead from the Bananas Foster, enough for two; to Bread Pudding, Sweet Potato Pecan Pie and Mississippi Mud Pie.
