Taggart's On The Square

Review content:
Taggart’s on the Square is (of course) located on the square in Troy. They offer a wide variety of traditional fare. Although they are more crowded on the weekends, it is rarely crowded enough that you need a reservation—although they will take them any day of the week. However, don’t let the lack of a crowd fool you; this is a quality restaurant. The bread is homemade and a wonderful complimentary starter. The rest of the food is quite good, also. Taggart’s offers a nice atmosphere without being stuffy. You could come in a sports jacket, but you would also feel comfortable in jeans—and you will likely see both. The bar is especially casual. This is a great place for a romantic dinner, but they also offer two rooms for larger groups. There is a large room with a smaller room within it. Both can be reserved and the smaller room can be used for a buffet or bar, or the rooms can be rented separately. The larger room would be a good size for maybe 50 people at most, and the smaller room is probably big enough for 12 people. Those numbers are only my personal guesses, though.
