My grandkids love to go and ride on these trains. ..and so do I! Kids of ALL ages will love it here! You can ride as many times as you want as long as you get another ticket and wait in line again at the train staton. They even have trains with seating available for the handicapped. The trains ride along tracks that cross over gullys, bridges and through a woody area, with cute model towns and several "surprises" located along the tracks pathway. The train ride take approx 10-15 minutes. The kids really love it! We usually end up riding at least 3 times each visit. On the 3rd Saturday of each month, they offer FREE train rides to the public from 10AM to 4PM out at ZUBE park off Roberts Rd and 290, near Hockley, TX. HALS or Houston Area Live Steamers is live steam and diesel model locomotives. They are so neat to see. The also have minature model trains set up on tracks outside too. You can even go in and see where they work on the trains. They have a large gazebo for birthday parties and other group gatherings right by the train park. Several picnic tables are also scattered around. We always bring along a picnic lunch for the kids and eat there. I will tell you tho, there aren't many trees around...so it is HOT! Check out the free rides calendar here: http://www.hals.org/runday.html
