I wandered into Samsun the other afternoon after work, meaning to just check out prices for future reference, but it was so affordable I went ahead and treated myself! Ladies get 15 minutes for free on their first visit, so I ended up getting 60 minutes of massage for only $40. They were very accomodating for walk-ins, but also take appointments, which may be the option you prefer if you have a favorite therapist (Lucy was great). I was led to a "room" in the back, which was really just a section with a few curtains hanging around it for privacy. Massages are given while you are wearing underwear only, and draped towels will most likely be moved, so this is not a place for modesty. First, I had a 30-minute regular massage (a special Chinese form, not your typical Swedish massage). She used a small amount of oil and got right to work. At Samsun, they call it bodywork, and now I see why: they work hard to get rid of the knots and tension in your body, and if your muscles are tight, it might hurt a bit to loosen them up, but it is well worth it when you walk out! Then I had 30 minutes of foot reflexology which was a real treat. It felt great on my feet and also all over my body as it is a technique to relax the whole body using special techniques. There was soft music in the background that helped you relax and forget about everything else on your mind for awhile. When you leave, they give you a small cup of tea to help get rid of the toxins in your body. You will feel brand new when you walk out! Pros: very reasonable price; friendly staff; great massage
