I agree with the other reviewer who said that this B&N is not that great of a place to study especially if you have a lap top. There is only 1 power outlet in the cafe area with a power strip. What happens in the end is a bunch of people clustered in that one area in order to plug their laptop in. There are several cords and it can become a tripping hazard. If you don't need to use your laptop then it may not be so bad.
There was very rude worker when I was there too. She assumed I was with an asian family sitting at the table next to me (they were eating some fruit brought from home). She went on to tell me to not bring in food from home which was interesting because I was sitting there eating a cookie and drinking coffee both of which I bought from that cafe. Needless to say, I was very offended. The other employees in the store however are always great so this may just be a singular person.
