Amazing idea but not done correctly. First, the food quality was poor vs. the price. This is GURNEE, IL not down town Chicago or a mega resort. Service was OK but again was not up to the standards the price would indicate. The water park idea is amazing but there is little for younger children who don't yet swim. Finally, and most perplexing, is that you can't use the water park without renting a hotel room. With rooms going at over $170/night PLUS tax and a 'resort fee'* the cost for a family of 4 for just one day is very high. The other water park in the area offers either room or water park only programs which makes more sense given the several million people in the area that might use the water park but have no need for a hotel room. In summary, a great idea that need revision. *A Resort Fee is simply additional profit for the hotel that they don't have to show when you book a room. So, a $200 room plus a $20 resort fee is really just a $220 room. Pros: Tropical theam was great, look and feel over all amazing Cons: Cost, food quality, service, and lack of ability to use water park without renting a hotel room
