Review content:
We stayed over the 4th of July weekend primarily due to an email special that was sent to us.
Our stay, once again was delightful with zero issues. Our room was a queen lakeview on an inside corner of the main lodge. The room was awesome, with 3 windows overlooking the lake, the views were spectaciular.
The weekend was hot with no a/c, but again fans were provided, and many of the lodging options to not have a/c. The breakfast and BBQ dinner buffet was done perfectly. There was a great selection of fresh and great tasting food. You cant beat the quietness at night, we have rarely heard a barking dog.
We travel with our 120 labrador retriever and he is welcomed at the resort and is usually the star of the show. The plumbing was great...tub drained awesome, lots and lots of super hot water with no temperature variance.
A few pointers for having an enjoyable stay on the island, where ever it may be....bring an extension cord or two. Bring a roll of duct tape, you can use it to hold up windows in which the springs are a little worn, you can patch a hole in the screen if need be, you can tape transfer tags to your luggage...the list goes on and on. A container of Clorox wet wipes is essential, we bring those to nearly every hotel we stay at.
The staff was super friendly and have progressed a lot in their training since our previous stay over Memorial Day. Keep in mind, the staff and most of the managers have nearly 100% turnover from year to year.
The festivities for the 4th of July were planned very well, the beer tasting near the front lawn was awesome.
Again, keep in mind that this resort operates at most 5 months of the year, and it is really in a remote part of the U.S.; and on an island in which does not allow motor vehicles.
We hate to rush summer, but are looking forward to a whole week vacation at Mission Point for Labor Day.
