I stayed at the Grand and yes it is an older property. But come on........ If you stayed on the river and had spider webs who's fault was that. People need to realize that Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Seiverville are the foothills of the Smoky Mountains you are encroaching on nature. It is such a beautiful place. I bet you saw squirrels, ducks, geese and lots of other small wildlife running around.I am sure that would be the fault of the Grand Resort as well. The Hotel is very nice just older. The wonderful staff more than makes up for a few spider webs. If the wildlife scared you then I'll bet Becky's pancakes made up for it. Don't believe everything you read. I will stay at the Grand again and again.
