I first met Willits family when I returned to Spotsylvania Martial Arts after a 10+ year sabbatical from martial arts. I was impressed with their professionalism and dedication to traditional martial arts values with ever evolving martial arts and self-defense technology. Mr. & Mrs. Willits enjoy their profession and pass that enjoyment and enthusiasm on to their students. In my mind, if a person enjoys what they are learning from a dedicated instructor, they learn quicker and their retention is deeper. When we weren’t actually involved in the exercise of perfecting a technique, we were exploring ways to improve ourselves and our martial art. Through Mr. and Mrs. Willits guidance, I went to class knowing: I was there to work; I would have a good time doing it; and leave class knowing that I was better off than before physically, mentally, and prepared for a real self-defense issue if it arose.
The Willits have the skill to teach all ages and levels from tiny tiger white belts to gray panther black belts like myself.
