Review content:
We have dined at Rooney's many times and enjoy the location and generally the food is very good. However, the last few times the wait staff has been uninterested in making us feel welcome. We noticed the new prix fix menu in the local news, but even though we arrived before 6, it was not mentioned or offered. When we asked for it, we got a disgusted sigh from the waitress as she left to get those menus for us. The food was good, but the salads came, and before we had a chance to eat them, our entrees arrived. When we said we did not want all our food together, the waitress told us, she couldn't do anything about it, when the food was ready, she brought it out!!!
She was annoyed at us!!! We don't know where the manager was, but the last thing we wanted to do is have an argument about how to serve food and how to speak to customers.
The next time we went before 6, again there was an audible sigh when we asked for the special, hidden, secret prix fixe menu!!! Suggestion:EITHER HAVE THIS MENU AND OFFER IT GRACIOUSLY, OR DO NOT!!! DO NOT MAKE THE DINER FEEL EMBARASSED OR ILL AT EASE. With the cost of drinks and extras, it is still expensive enough!! Off this 4-6pm menu, the prices are outrageous, and are equal to, or more than a fine NY city restaurant. Consistency in food, wait staff and courtesy to all should be assured.
