As a meeting planner, I have plenty to do on the first day of a conference. Also, my staff is small, so I don’t have anyone free that I can send to the airport to pick up our keynote speaker and other VIPs. There were six of them coming in, all at around the same time. I could have told them to take taxis, and reimbursed them, but instead I decided to send a limo. The cost was really reasonable, especially since I would have had to pay for six taxi rides to and from the airport. Instead, they rode in luxury, and arrived at the conference feeling well cared for and less apt to have issues with us when some little things went wrong. That was money well spent!
