they insisted I needed new rear brakes and rotors for inspection. I never heard of the rear rotors needing replaced BEFORE the front rotors. they said it would be $270 for all the brake work. I figured the rotors were expensive. I got the receipt. rotors were only $120. I paid another $150 for pads brake inspections. including hydraulics/hardware/test drive. after my 1st trip the right rear brake was smoking. it was the weekend so I tried not to drive it until Monday. but I had to give my sister a ride. after I dropped her off I stopped at a stop light. and in my driver side mirror I saw smoke again. the light turned green, I pulled out into a lane. a guy pulled up beside me and beeped his horn. he said my brakes were on fire. I said, "on fire"? he said, "yeah, I saw flames coming out of your wheel". I called them Monday, and the guy who runs the place said, "I never heard of that happening bring it in. if its our fault we will fix it“. So he said it was the caliper. I said you guys should have caught that. he said, "well its hard to tell". it looked pretty easy when they checked it when I brought it back. only took them a minute or two. He just spun the left rear wheel and he said he could feel the pads rubbing so the caliper is sticking. he said it would cost more money for the caliper. so I said no I’ll take my chances getting it home and do it myself. it cost me $45 to do it myself and took me less than 20 minutes. it would cost another $150 at Henise. if the caliper sticks it wont go back on easy. which means you have to force the caliper back on. then the wheel wont spin right if you spin it, which is a part of the procedure. when you put the wheel back on you give it a spin. if it doesnt spin right then check the caliper. If they only told me. I should have done the whole thing myself. there is no reason why my brakes should catch on FIRE after leaving the inspection station. especially after paying $150 for a brake package that includes all the inspections that should have caught the problem
