My wife is a self-described “food snob.” She buys everything organic and prefers to cook at home. That’s why, when she wants to go out to eat, it’s kind of a big deal. And she LOVES to eat at comforts. For a six month period, we were going to lunch there more than once a week. I must admit, I’m a creature of habit and lately I’ve been ordering the burger. I can’t remember that last time I had a better burger and fries. First of all, they actually cook the burger the way you like it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone to other restaurants and received a medium well burger after ordering it medium rare. Plus they give you a nice aioli sauce to dip your fries into. Right now, I’d say it’s the best burger in town. Supposedly their Chinese Chicken salad is their main attraction but I don’t understand why people get so excited over SALAD. Nonetheless, I’ve had it a few times and it’s a satisfying treat (although not as satisfying as the burger). The owner works as a greeter and really busts her ass. On of my pet peeves is when you go to a small business and the owner is too busy acting important to actually service customers. You get a lot of that a lot in Marin. However, the lady who owns Comforts really makes you feel important as a customer. She’s a friendly greeter, she works hard to get you a seat when it’s busy and she makes sure you’re getting good service. Overall, Comforts has delicious food, extremely friendly service and reasonable prices (about $15 per person). My only complaint is that it’s not open for dinner!
