Review content:
After losing my long-time stylist, I went to Kim at this salon on a recommendation. I showed her pictures of what I wanted, discussed what I wanted, told her how I styled my hair (drying it turned under with a big brush), specified that I wanted my hair to be SMOOTH. She proceeded to hack at my hair with thinning shears (I didn't realize what she was doing). She styled it so oddly (again, not how I asked her to) that I did not realize how bad the cut was when I left. When I got home, I realized that the top layer of hair was WAY too short. When I tried to wash and style it, I realized the ends were shaggy, and there were so many random lengths on top that I could not style it the way I told her I style it. It looked bushy and frizzy and had hairs sticking out all over the place -- definitely NOT SMOOTH! Apart from the fact that this was NOTHING like what I asked for, it also DOES NOT WORK WITH MY HAIR TYPE: I have full, wavy hair that is generally pretty but tends to be a little wild, especially without the right cut. The short hairs are curling and sticking out everywhere. I had to spend another $50 to go to someone else to try and salvage it, and while it certainly looks better (the ends are even, among other things), it is going to be at least six months before I can really do what I want with it and probably at least a year before the too short hairs all over don't stick out anymore. (The woman who did the second cut said that Kim had just went to town with the thinning shears.) So after two haircuts, it still looks frizzy, b/c unless I wanted to cut it short, I just have to wait for a bunch of this hair to grow out. I have never had such a bad haircut, nor had a stylist completely ignore me like this.. DO NOT GO to her unless you want shaggy, bushy hair, because apparently she doesn't know how to do anything else.
Pros: No pros adequate to compensate for the cons
Cons: Doesn't listen to clients -- chops hair with thinning shears
