Gene is the man! Erudite and personable, this guy is a true wood aficionado. We had about 1000sf of wood flooring needed for our new house (built 1927). There was carpet before. We do a ton of research before we buy anything, and we had a highly recommended company do an estimate for new hardwood floors. They came in at twice what Gene quoted us! One reason is that Gene noticed that our sub-flooring was Douglas Fir and he became quite animated explaining how the older house sub-flooring was GREAT wood and we could just repair and finish that. The other guys didn't even notice the quality of the sub. They would have just put their expensive red oak down on top of it. Now we have a magnificent and truly unique floor! it matches all the other beams and wood on the stairs, too. Anyway, Gene came and really thought about our floors. Because he loves doing a good job, and gets excited about the opportunity to restore a floor that was hidden for eighty years, he envisioned the best scenario for us as consumers, even though he could have just given us a more expensive price for new floors and moved on to the next job. His guys are great, and he was checking in constantly to make sure we were happy. Concept Materials was the best quality by miles, and the best price by half. You are certainly lucky to find this guy! Nice job Concept and thanks Niko and Davis.
