Review content:
I was appalled in the way they treated me this morning (05/10/2010 9:15 am ) with the lack of empathy and concern for my health. I had a scheduled appointment for 9:30 am at the Castle Dental Location in South Lamar. I was present for excruciating tooth pain and inflammation. I had spoken to the front desk representatives on Friday in attempts to set up the earliest appointment possible explaining to them my situation---10 weeks pregnant with tooth pain. The Rep (female) mentioned that I would need to submit an OBGYN written consent before I can be seen. So I called my hospital and spoke with my RN, who explained to me that there are just too many medications and treatment procedures to cover in a brief summary. She noted that my OBGYN requires my Dentist to fax their proposed treatment plan to be evaluated and signed by my OBGYN before receiving treatment. I called Castle Dental office again and explain these details. After discussing it with them in various phone calls back in forth they seemed like they would accommodate my OBGYNs requirement and set me up with an appointment for Monday. This was not the case on Monday morning. Obviously the same issue was brought up again. The office manager and my OBGYN Nurse kept passing the buck and left me out to dry. How simple would it have been to fax basically a permission slip to get X-Rays and a probe examination to my OBGYN. It was apparent that my dental health which was urgent (infection) was not their primary concern. I asked to speak to the Dentist and was ignored so I left to go outside and call other Dentist in the area. Fortunately, Steven L Van Wicklen DDS, PC down the street gained my business by showing what you would expect from true healthcare professionals---courteous client service and they took that extra step. They made no fuss in meeting my physician's request. So thats how they lost a NEW CLIENT today. They were in the least apologetic as I left their office.
