Review content:
The Ramos House Cafe, on historic Los Rios Street across the train tracks from the Amtrak depot, is a real gem. The seating is all outside of an historic home on a casual, rustic patio set under a huge tree. But the setting is deceptive as to the food you will find here. The chef comes up with the most inventive and wonderful dishes - very sophisticated, but also very casual and accessible. The weekend brunch is just delicious. They have wonderful beignets, and I love their fried chicken salad with cranberries and pumpkin seed dressing. Everything is just great. They have unique homemade desserts that are to die for. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. Prepare for crowds and a wait on Saturday and Sunday, but you can always put your name in and walk around the wonderful old historic homes and shops in the area.
