Review content:
Bread bakers have come and gone in this town, but Great Harvest is more than a bakery -- it's an institution!
Great fresh bread. Creative and imaginative breads and quickbreads so popular that they are produced on a weekly schedule (and if you wait too long in the day, you are surely out of luck!!) are ready for sampling with a nice slab of butter. It is amazing how many people come in to get a fresh piece of bread out of the oven - sometimes with no intention of buying bread that day - and yet they are served with a smile each and every time! I have seen *packs* of kids come in for bread, and never a cross look or snide comment is served along with (what is clearly) their after-school snack. You just can't find places like this, these days. It takes us back to time when the neighborhood bakery was more than a retail store. I believe that is why, aside from the delicious products they produce, Great Harvest has been and will be around for quite a while.
